Dark distant remarks are calling
To remind me what we are
Something I can't handle most of the time
And I know it's a surprise
How tall I stand sometimes
But I've written my goodbye on a folded napkin
Slipped inside your pocket
Before you left me standing
I knew you weren't listening
Can you feel my heartbeat
Pounding into nothing?
Broken bones are floating
In my empty body
Can you feel it reaching
Moving through the feeling?
Won't you bring me down?
Won't you bring me down to size?
Here's to all the Gal Pals and Men who had boy/girl problems and other dating disasters.
We all had that boy who was not good for us that we can't resist - it's either he is handsome or we told ourselves, we can't find more suitable men for us so we sticked to the loser anyway. Worst is, if we put him on a pedastal like he was the GREATest thing that we've ever found.
Same for men, you met someone who made you questioned your sanity. It was highly addictive in a very negative way and you hoped for changes that never happened in the end. And here you are stuck, depleted and drained.
We know deep down that we have to run with as fast as we can but we keep giving them chances to redeem themselves. (insert suicide emoji here).
What is the feeling of standing tall in the midst of a battle? For sure it was empowering. I wish I had felt it when I was doing self destructive, sabotaging habits. You know that feeling when you rise above the negative patterns - (pleasing people, putting your energy out there in order to be liked back, to be validated, to be noticed etc..)
You can start with saying NO to the things that you don't like, you are not comfortable doing so. Some of us are still on the early stage of knowing ourselves, knowing what we like and when we go out to the world we will encounter different types. Plus the danger of sacrificing ourselves and saying YES to them all the time.
I meet people everywhere - on the road, at the grocery store, while on que, definitely everywhere. LOL It's easy for me to make friends instantly at the same time, I exercise my power of saying NO. There are some people who has good energy, that makes you feel good and I'm looking forward to meet them again but there are some people that are not interesting to me for some reasons but I keep the polite attitude. At the same time, that also means NO, I will be uncomfortable spending time with them again so I will not waste my energy on meeting them again.
I hope we will not find ourselves in situations where we have to sit or stay still until the day's over to get rid of things that are uncomfortable to us.
